J-Opps

Terms of Service

Last updated October 5, 2026

Draft. This is placeholder text for testing and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It will be replaced with final wording before J-Opps launches publicly.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of J-Opps. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.

1. What J-Opps is

J-Opps is a platform where organizations post opportunities (such as events, education, volunteering, travel, membership, and work experience) and individuals discover and respond to them. J-Opps connects the two; it is not a party to anything an individual and an organization agree to or do together.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an individual account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date, including anything that affects your eligibility for an opportunity.
  • Keep your sign-in details private. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
  • One person, one individual account. Organizations must be created by someone authorized to act for them.

3. Organizations and opportunities

  • New organizations are reviewed before their opportunities become public, and we may decline or remove an organization.
  • Organizations are responsible for the accuracy of what they post, for running their opportunities safely and lawfully, and for how they treat the people who respond.
  • We don’t verify or guarantee any opportunity, and we aren’t responsible for how an opportunity turns out.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use J-Opps to:

  • post anything false, misleading, discriminatory, harassing, or unlawful;
  • impersonate another person or organization;
  • scrape, probe, or disrupt the service, or try to access data that isn’t yours;
  • send spam, or contact people for reasons unrelated to an opportunity.

5. Content you provide

You keep ownership of what you post. You give J-Opps permission to store and display it as needed to run the service — for example, showing an organization’s opportunity to visitors, or showing your application to the organization you applied to.

6. Moderation

Anyone can report a listing or organization. Administrators may remove content, suspend or ban accounts, or decline organizations that break these Terms or put others at risk.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimers and liability

J-Opps is provided “as is,” and we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, J-Opps isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that happens at or because of an opportunity listed on the site.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we make a change, we’ll ask you to review and accept the new version before you keep using the site.
